Policy on Recognition of Prior Learning

On application to the Campus Principal, a student's admission and individualised program can be negotiated on the basis of recognition of prior learning.
Recognition of prior learning may gain exemptions or credits. If students provide sufficient evidence of competency for aspects of the course then exemptions from study and assessment may be given.
Where recognition of prior learning is granted, the College only claims funding for the new unit standards being undertaken by the Student, and not the normal value for the qualification.
Staff that have had training in the appropriate assessment methods will conduct recognition of prior learning. This is normally the Campus Principal.
