Policy on Recognition of Prior Learning
- On application to the Campus Principal, a student's admission and individualised program can be negotiated on the basis of recognition of prior learning.
- Recognition of prior learning may gain exemptions or credits. If students provide sufficient evidence of competency for aspects of the course then exemptions from study and assessment may be given.
- Where recognition of prior learning is granted, the College only claims funding for the new unit standards being undertaken by the Student, and not the normal value for the qualification.
- Staff that have had training in the appropriate assessment methods will conduct recognition of prior learning. This is normally the Campus Principal.
